Brothers and Sisters,
Attached you will find the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining the details of the Tentative Agreement. After careful review and discussion, the Executive Board has made a decision to support this Tentative Agreement and recommends a YES vote from the membership.
The reason is simple: we start at no givebacks — not one.
From that starting point, what this agreement delivers is progress.
We are talking about jobs gained, not new contracting letters. We are not talking about more work leaving our call centers or our construction shops. Instead, we are talking about protecting the work we do today and bringing new work back into the bargaining unit, including the creation of 1,180 new jobs.
We are talking about wage increases that outpace medical cost increases by a mile. We are talking about pension band increases every single year. And we are talking about a guaranteed CPS award of $4,300 for new hires, helping them invest more into their 401(k) and strengthen their retirement security.
That’s what progress looks like.
If anyone is encouraging you to vote NO, you should ask them a simple question:
What specifically will a NO vote get me that is not already in this Tentative Agreement?
And just as importantly: How will you get it? What is the specific plan?
You deserve to hear that answer.
Please take the time to review the attached MOU carefully and participate in the upcoming informational meetings so you can make the most informed decision possible.
In Solidarity,
CWA's Local 1103 Executive Board
